Dr. McKenzie has worked in small animal general practice since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He also teaches senior veterinary students in his practice, writes a monthly column for Veterinary Practice News, manages the SkeptVet Blog and social media outlets, has served as president of the Evidencebased Veterinary Medicine Association, and has recently released a book: Placebos for Pets? The Truth about Alternative Medicine for Animals. In his sparse free time, he enjoys playing mandolin, reading, hiking, and watching the hummingbirds and woodpeckers outside his living-room window.
